navy life
March 3, 2003
Well, we are finally here in Charleston, SC. The weather has been generally warm, and mostly rainy. But I love it. We are going to stay in Navy Housing while we are here, which really isn't bad at all. We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house, a huge yard, and are meeting alot of people that leave here. I definitely don't miss the boat, but I do miss Holly and the girls from work. I get to see Chris every day now, which is wonderful. We have 3 years of stability, which will be great. The cats are doing well, and since we have a screened porch, they get to go outside when the weather is good. Chris just got done qualifying EWS, next will be TOW. He hasn't really had much of a supervisory position yet, because he has been qualifying, but soon. Which will make him happy. Check back for more updates as time goes on. I may get in a really bad mood one day and go on a rampage. :)

We are finally at war. I knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of when. I am grateful for the fact that Chris is not there. Unfortunately, the boat he was on is. I can only pray that they will be safe. I am saddened over the loss of so much life, both Iraqi and American/Coalition. There are so many innocents that have died and it tears at my heart. I am also shocked over the American soldier who decided to try and take the lives, and actually succeeded in one case, of his coworker and fellow soldiers. On brighter subjects, the weather has been beautiful the last two days. We had about 2 weeks of rain, and the last 2 days have been 70-80 degrees and sunny. We got alot of landscaping done, which is relaxing for me. That and the yard looks nice too. The Sub Ball is April 5!! I can't wait. I love going to the sub ball. I got my dress, Chris got is Choker whites. That's the white uniform Tom Cruise wears at the end of "Top Gun"! YUMMY!! I can't wait to see him in it. He's always worn his dress blues, which, quite honestly, I think are ugly. (Sorry guys!!). I mean they're bell bottoms!! I leave a post after the sub ball with lots of pictures. Check back then!!!
